After last week’s dustup surrounding immigration-related language in its performance contract, South by Southwest has formally announced a change of policy. South By Southwest organizers say the festival continues to bring a growing economic benefit to Austin. The festival's annual economic impact report released today shows this year’s SXSW brought $325.3 million to Austin’s economy, an increase of more than $8 million from last year.

Unless you've been locked in a soundproof lead box and submerged in Lady Bird Lake, you're fully aware of the traffic situation that's transpiring today: President Obama's visiting and it's the first day of SXSW Interactive.

Suffice to say, people weren't too jazzed about the prospect and they're took to the Internet to vent about it.
