What The Vietnam War Can Teach Austin About Divisive Times

KLRU

Ken Burns and Lynn Novick’s documentary The Vietnam War premiered last night on KLRU. It’s a 10-part, 18-hour documentary about that divisive and still-controversial period in American history. To complement that documentary's release, KLRU has created some of its own local programming to examine how the war in Vietnam affected Central Texans.

Austin Revealed: Stories from Vietnam, which tells the stories of Austinites on the frontlines and the homefrontairs tomorrow night; ATX Together: Lessons from Vietnam, which centers around a multi-generational discussion of the war, airs Wednesday night. KUT recently talked with KLRU Editorial Director Judy Maggio and Videographer Joe Rocha of the station's Decibel initiative about these local projects.
