Barton Springs Pool was supposed to re-open today. The beloved swimming hole had closed following heavy rains and flooding two weeks ago.
Cleanup at the pool was finally complete. But in the video below, you’ll see rain this morning has flooded the pool again:
City officials say Barton Springs will stay closed until further notice. Big Stacy Pool is also temporarily closed due to muddy runoff entering the pool.
As for Austin's major waterways: a ban on all commercial or navigational boating has been issued for Barton Creek and Lady Bird Lake. Watercraft being illegally operated on those waters may be impounded.
