 Cast an Early Ballot for City Elections        

Early voting is underway for the May 14 City of Austin elections. Three city council seats are on the ballot.  Incumbents Chris Riley, Randi Shade and Laura Morrison are seeking re-election. 

Early voting locations include the UT campus, Travis County’s main tax office on Airport Boulevard and some Randalls and H-E-B locations. Click here for a full list of Travis County early voting sites.

ACC Names Finalist for President

Austin Community College’s Board voted unanimously last night on a lone finalist to be ACC’s next president and CEO.  The Board chose Dr. Richard Rhodes, who is currently president of El Paso Community College.  Rhodes is also chair of the Texas Association of Community Colleges.

Abortion Sonogram Bill Moving Forward

The Texas Senate tentatively passed a bill to require women seeking abortions to get sonograms first.  The legislation would require doctors to describe details of the fetus. The Senate needs to take a final vote on the abortion sonogram bill before it heads back to the House.
