Gas Prices Drop

Gas prices have fallen in time if you’re planning on filling up your gas tank to travel for the 4th of July. Prices across the state and in Austin dropped seven cents in the past week to about $3.43 for a gallon of regular unleaded.

I35 Closed Near San Marcos

I-35 northbound is closed this morning just south of the outlet malls in San Marcos. San Marcos police say a tour bus rolled over. TxDOT is clearing up debris on the road before it re-opens. Around 12 people were injured and taken to the hospital.  If you’re in the area, the frontage road is open or you can take a detour on Old Bastrop Highway to get back on IH 35.

Cap Metro Ask for Arbitration with Drivers

Statesman.com is reporting that Capital Metro has requested binding arbitration to settle an ongoing labor dispute with drivers and mechanics. The move comes just days after the Capital Metro board voted unanimously to do away with StarTran, the subsidiary that employs drivers and mechanics, in favor of farming the labor out to a private company.
