Time is Running Out to Cast an Early Ballot

Tomorrow is the last day of early voting for the November 8th elections. Texans are voting on ten state constitutional amendments. KUT has been reporting on each of these propositions; you can check those stories out here.

Travis County has two bond propositions on the ballot for transportation and parks projects. Some Central Texas school districts and cities also have bond proposals and propositions on the ballot including the Lake Travis and Lago Vista school districts and the cities of Pflugerville and Round Rock.

See what's on the ballot and where to vote on these websites: Travis County, Williamson County and Hays County.

Council to Vote on Extending Lance Armstrong Bike Trail

The Austin City Council will vote on extending the Lance Armstrong Bike Trail in East Austin at its meeting today. Phase three of the project extends the trail off-street from East 5th and Shady Lane to the Airport Boulevard Bridge. The project would cost over half a million dollars. It would be paid through grant money and a bond approved in 2000.

Red Flag & Freeze Warning

A red flag warning is in effect from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. for Central Texas. Strong winds and low humidity mean any fire that develops likely will spread quickly.

And if you can believe it, a freeze warning is in effect for much of Central Texas, especially the Hill Country, from 2 a.m. until 9 a.m. Friday. Highs in Austin today will be in the mid 60s and tonight lows will be near 35.
