The Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative announced today that is has fully restored power to the areas impacted by the Labor Day wildfires that scorched more than 34,000 acres of Bastrop County. But just because the power is running in the areas, the statement made it clear that there's still work remaining.
Bluebonnet has taken 310 requests from members to reconnect power and completed 281 appointments. After an appointment has been completed, Bluebonnet’s construction crews make the necessary repairs to restore electricity from the power line to a member’s home or business. So far, Bluebonnet’s construction crews have completed 206 reconnects. Requests continue to come in daily.
Bluebonnet also continues to cut down and haul off damaged trees that pose a danger or could damage power lines in the future.
