Among the things he wants to discuss: Texas' warnings about traveling to Mexico.
The Texas Department of Public Safety has issued several travel warnings this year, warning citizens about drug cartel violence across the border. An advisory in March warned against going to Mexican resorts like Cancun and Acapulco for spring break.
Rodolfo Lopez-Negrete, who heads Mexico's tourism board, wants DPS to stop portraying his entire country as unsafe for tourists. The Associated Press reports Lopez-Negrete says people should obviously use "common sense" about violent areas like Nuevo Laredo, but that most resort areas remain safe.
