The Circuit of the Americas announced today that they will debut their shiny new music venue, the Tower Amphitheater, this spring with a concert featuring country music star Kenny Chesney on April 5.

COTA officials say the festival will bring new opportunities to the complex largely known for motorsports, and that they plan on scheduling 15 to 20 shows a year to keep the circuit occupied between race days.

Spokesperson Ali Putnam said the amphitheater will feature the largest stage in Central Texas with room for 15,000 fans, and that COTA looks to bringing more noteworthy artists to the venue that sits at the base of the complex's signature 22-story observation tower.

"We're really excited, and he's a great act to have here for our first show," Putnam said. "We're expecting some pretty impressive acts in our inaugural year."

The show will mark the beginning of Chesney's "No Shoes Nation" tour of 46 cities in North America. Sulphur Springs, TX native Kacey Musgrave will open up for Chesney starting at 8pm.
