Paul Qui Wins 'Top Chef: Texas'
Qui went head to head against Chicago's Sara Gruenberg in the season finale. This season of "Top Chef" brought the contestants to Austin, Dallas and San Antonio where they battled for the highly sought-after title.
The final elimination challenge, which took place in British Columbia, Canada, had the two create an extravagant meal consisting of four courses. Qui won six challenges and took home the $125,000 from the finale, along with a trip to Costa Rica.
Qui has been successful in Austin as executive chef of Uchiko. He also owns and runs the East Side King food trailers dotted over East Austin. Qui's cuisine centers around Asian and European flavors incorporated into Japanese dishes.
Ron Paul Faults Selection of Some Washington Delegates
The Seattle Times reports that Ron Paul’s presidential campaign is threatening to fight the selection of some Washington delegates to the Republican National Convention. The campaign claims there’s a lack of transparency in how party officials from the state’s largest county are chosen.
Paul's campaign says the King County GOP violated party rules by not submitting the names of certain party officials who will take part in the caucuses.
Washington’s Republican caucuses will be held on Saturday March 3rd.
Texas beats OU in Men’s Basketball
From the Associated Press, the Longhorns took the victory over Oklahoma last night.
“The win guarantees Texas will finish at least .500 in the Big 12, a critical mark for a team hoping to make its 14th consecutive tournament appearance. Texas closes the regular season Saturday at No. 3 Kansas. ”
Freshman Sheldon McClellan was the game’s high scorer with a career high of 24 points, reports the AP.
