Car Donation

KUT, the NPR News and information station broadcasting from The University of Texas, is the only public radio station of its kind located in Central Texas. It broadcasts news, information, and entertainment programming from NPR and other national distributors, as well as locally-produced offerings like In Black America and more.

Have an old car taking up space in your driveway? Donate it to KUT!

How it Works:

It’s easy to make a contribution that supports KUT, your most trusted source for news and information in Central Texas!

Just call Toll-Free 877-KUT-4-CAR (877-588-4227)  to speak to a Vehicle Donation Representative or visit http://kut.careasy.org/HOME.html. You can also fill out the form below to contact us.

A representative will schedule a pickup that’s convenient for you and provide you with confirmation of your donation.

If the gross proceeds from the sale of your donated vehicle are $500 or more, you can also receive an IRS tax form 1098C stating the sale price of the vehicle. This amount is what you actually claim on the itemized tax return.

According to the tax law effective January 1, 2005, if the claimed value of the donated vehicle exceeds $500, the taxpayer is limited to the gross proceeds of the sale.

Finally, as our way of saying thank you, we will provide you with a one-year membership to KUT! Please see our car donation page of frequently asked questions for more information.
