Watching and Waiting: Rick Perry 2012

Time for another look at how the Rick Perry Presidential speculation is playing out across the country.

Finally the REAL Question Has Been Asked

With all the talk about how Governor Perry would do if he jumped into the GOP primary race, it was only a matter of time before someone focused on how he would do against President Obama in the general election. The L.A. Times asks in this story. The blog post takes a look at how some conservatives have started comparing the Governor to the President while pointing out several economic indicators that show a worsening economy while President Obama has been in office.

Texas Jobs Under Scrutiny

ABC News digs just a bit deeper into Governor Rick Perry's campaign narrative, that the state has created more jobs then all other states combined over the last few years. It including a look at how billions in state budget cuts could slow the mighty Texas job creating engine.

Well That Settles It

Most people waiting for Governor Perry to make an official announcement have their own reason for thinking he'll run. Personally, I knew he was running as soon as he sponsored a race car at last year's NASCAR race in Texas Motor Speedway (a great way to introduce himself to the Deep South's NASCAR fans, who typically vote Republican).

If you're still looking for a sign, how about Karl Rove saying he thinks the Governor will run? He made the statement on Fox Business News this week.

"This is a big state with nearly 24 million people. And if you're the governor of the state you have the capacity to go out and raise a lot of money from people."

And if I'm not mistaken, money has played a role in the Presidential race from time to time.
