Fans Enjoy Final Harry Potter Film in Austin

Folks lined up outside of the Alamo Drafthouse on South Lamar for the midnight premier of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.

"There’s a group of people wearing complete robes and stuff and then there's my friend Robin next to me who’s always weird,” Jenna Ramsey said.

Ramsey and her friend Robin wore matching red shirts with Harry’s face on it. Ramsey was excited about the final film as she has read all of the Harry Potter books.

Texas Mexican Mafia Members Arrested

16 members and associates of the Texas Mexican Mafia were arrested on federal drug charges in Central Texas on Thursday. Two others were also indicted and were already in custody. The indictment charges the defendants had conspired to distribute cocaine and heroin since April 2009.

Authorities also executed search warrants and seized guns, cash and suspected drugs.  The arrests and searches were done in Austin, Seguin and Pflugerville.  If convicted, the defendants face between ten years and life in federal prison.

Price at the Pump Up

Austin area gas prices jumped over a dime this week. AAA-Texas says the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is averaging $3.54. Last July, Austinites were paying about a dollar less per gallon.
