Intelligence Company’s Website Hacked
Austin-based security company Stratfor says its website has been hacked. The site was down Monday morning. In an email, Stratfor says it believes the names of some of its corporate clients have been placed onto other websites. Stratfor’s clients include Apple and the U.S. Air Force.
Boat Fires on Lady Bird Lake
Austin firefighters spent a good part of Christmas Day afternoon extinguishing a fire on a party boat and two other boats on Lady Bird Lake. AFD estimates damage at about $1 million. Investigators are still looking for a cause.
Designer of Marfa Sculpture Dies
Artist John Chamberlain died last week in New York. One of the giants in Abstract Expressionism, he was best known for his large metal sculptures made of crushed cars. But John Chamberlain was proudest of his installation at the Chinati Foundation in Marfa, Texas. Tom Michael of Marfa Public Radio reports.
