High Temperatures in Forecast, Hopes of Rain

Triple-digit temperatures are welcoming us into August with the 48th day of highs over 100. Austin residents had hopes Tropical Storm Don would bring rain over the weekend, but no such luck. Expect the next few days to be near record levels, around 104-106 degrees.

As political observers continue to watch Governor Rick Perry's potential run for the Republican presidential nomination, his closest advisors will be playing an important role in that bid. Warren Jeffs' Trial Continues

The trial of polygamist religious leader Warren Jeffs continues today. In an outburst on Friday, the leader of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints threatened God's wrath in court. He says his freedom of religion is being infringed upon. Jeffs is representing himself, as he faces charges of sexually assaulting two underage girls. The maximum sentence is life in prison, if he's convicted.
