What Time is It?

Not to be smart-alecky, but just a quick reminder to make sure you set your clocks back one hourbefore going to sleep Saturday night. Yes, this is the glorious "fall back" weekend when we get one hour of extra sleep. Perhaps you used that extra hour to celebrate the Texas Longhorns' football win over Texas Tech Saturday 52-20?

As this is being written, rain is actually falling from the sky (at least in parts of Austin).  There is a 20% chance of rain for Central Texas today.  Click here for YNN's Sunday forecast.

5.6 Earthquake Hits Oklahoma 

A 5.6 magnitude earthquake hit Oklahoma Saturday night. Aftershocks followed early Sunday morning, some of which could be felt closer to home. The Associated Press reports:

The magnitude 5.6 earthquake Saturday night was centered near Sparks, 44 miles northeast of Oklahoma City, and could be felt throughout the state and in Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, northern Texas and some parts of Illinois and Wisconsin.  

Veterans Returning from Multiple Deployments Face New Challenges

Veterans Day is coming up this week and may be the focus of more attention than usual as the United States prepares to withdraw from Iraq by the end of the year.  KUT News will run a series of reports this coming week looking back and ahead at vets and the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. This morning, the Austin American-Statesmanis reporting on the challenges returning soldiers face who have spent most of the past decade preparing for or engaging in conflict.
