Texas State Rep. Still Doubts Obama Was Born in the USA

Nov 30, 2010

Is there anything the national broadcast media loves more than a beatdown of a radically conservative politician? If so, State Rep. Leo Berman (R-Tyler) is making it way too easy for Anderson Cooper.

Despite what appears to be overwhelming evidence that President Obama was born in Hawaii, Berman took the bait last night on CNN.

You know I really don't know. If you look at my white hair, you can tell I've been around for awhile. And I've known everything about every president that I've come across for the last 70 some-odd years. I don't know anything about President Obama. I wish I did.

Berman filed a bill in the Texas legislature earlier this month that would require any candidate for US President or Vice President to present an original birth certificate before they could appear on the ballot in Texas. If it passes the lege and Gov. Perry signs it, it would take effect before the next presidential election in 2012.

Berman told the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, "This bill is necessary because we have a president whom the American people don’t know whether he was born in Kenya or some other place."
