Texas Peace Officers Memorial Hopes to Get a Facelift
You'll find the Texas Peace Officers Memorial, located on the northeast part of the Capitol. You'll also find it's in need of repairs. The memorial is dedicated to law enforcement officers and corrections personnel in the state of Texas who've died in the line of duty.
Over time, the memorial has been marred by water damage, leading to grime seeping through the structure. Dennis Graffious, board chair of the Texas Peace Officers Memorial, is currently working with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) to raise money for the repairs.
Jason Ball, an information specialist with TCLEOSE, is not only working to keep the memorial sound, but also has personal ties as his great uncle's name is on the memorial.
TCLEOSE is will hold a golf tournament in May to raise funds for the memorial.
