Two former Texas Longhorns, both NCAA All-Americans, will be at the helm of St. Edward's University's softball team.

Lindsay Gardner, who played for the 'Horns until 2002, was named Head Coach of the Hilltoppers. Olympic Gold and Silver medalist Cat Osterman, whose record-setting career on the Forty Acres ended in 2007, was named Assistant Coach.

"We played together throughout each of our careers and have always shared a passion for the game and a drive to be successful,” Gardner said of her new assistant

Gardner was assistant coach at St. Edward’s in 2007-2008. The team made consecutive appearances in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional Tournament. They finished third in the Division II Women's College World Series in 2008.
