Special Olympics Athletes Return to Austin After Winning Honors in World Winter Games (Update)
Update: Central Texans Alex Miller and Cory Gentry returned to Austin today after competing in the Special Olympics World Winter Games in South Korea. Figure skaters Miller and Gentry placed fourth and fifth in the worldwide competition. The games ran from Jan. 29 to Feb. 5.

Original Post (Dec. 5, 2012): Thousands of athletes will descend on Pyeongchang, South Korea for the Special Olympics World Winter Games in January. Among them are two Austinites: Cory Gentry and Alex Miller.
These two athletes will compete in individual figure skating along with some 3,000 participants from 110 countries.
Peggy Grant, coach with Miller’s Chaparral Ice Diamond Spurs team, says that the Special Olympics Texas team is really "excited to go to the world games, and I can't wait to seem them compete."
Gentry and Miller will join the Team USA training camp at Lake Placid on Dec. 10. The World Winter Games kick off Jan. 26, 2013.
