Shhh! Texas Standard is (Not) On the Air!
In the 21st century, as Texas goes, so goes the rest of the country? Many think so – for better and for worse.
What better time to launch public radio's first daily news program from the Capital of Texas, for Texas and beyond: Texas Standard. The program is built around partnerships with public radio stations across the state, as well as the Texas Tribune, Texas Monthly and many others. We'll be telling you more as we near our summer launch window. But for now, we hope you'll enjoy this sneak peek at our most recent test runs – done in "real time".
Nota bene: These samplers are updated weekly. The sponsors aren't really program sponsors, the theme music's a placeholder, the newscasts are dated, and we don't even have a Texas Standard website as such (in fact, we're still working with a skeleton crew and that dramatically limits what we can and cannot do editorially). But we're working hard behind the scenes to put the pieces together. It's a work in progress – and we'd love to get your feedback. Thanks for checking us out, and as they say in radio, 'stay tuned'!
