More Rain, Storms Move Through Central Texas

Skies over Austin Saturday late afternoon.

Update 7:30 p.m. The rain and storms have mostly cleared out of the Austin and Central Texas region.

Update: Lighter rain now in the Austin area. For some closed road crossings, check atxfloods.com before heading out on the roads.

Update: Flash flood warnings are in effect for parts of the area.

Update: Another round of heavy rainfall is predicted for the Austin area Saturday night. Some parts of south central Texas are already seeing rain. Flash flooding is expected for many parts of the already-saturated region.

The National Weather Service says that showers and thunderstorms are likely starting around 6 p.m. Saturday. Some areas may get up to two inches of rain from the system.

Officials urge caution when driving during flash flood conditions; check atxfloods for road information. You can check back here for updates about ongoing weather events.

After these storms pass through the area, the weather is expected to clear up. Sunday should be partly sunny, and the forecast shows sun for the first half of this week, with highs in the mid-80s.
