Most City of Austin offices are closed for Memorial Day – that includes libraries, museums and senior centers. But city pools will be open – along with city tennis centers and golf courses.

Other recreational activities – including the Zilker Botanical Garden and the Austin Nature and Science Center are also open.

The Austin Animal Center is also open today. In fact, the center is holding an adoption special: no fee for dogs over 25 pounds, dogs over 25 pounds are $20 and cats are two for $20.

Trash, recycling and yard trimmings collection will remain on schedule. That means if today is your pick-up day, you'll need to get your stuff to the curb.

The ban on personal watercrafts on Lake Austin continues through sunrise on Tuesday. Austin Police are banning wet bikes, motorized surfboards and 'similar devices' because of heavy use over the holiday weekend. Kayaks, canoes are paddleboards are okay for use.

Ano refusal initiative remains in effect on Austin roads and Lake Austin. Those pulled over on suspicion of a DWI or BWI will have to take a breath or blood test.

On Sunday, APD made 25 DWI arrests and 4 BWI arrests. On Saturday, they arrested 20 people for DWI.
