UT Guard Dogus Balbay will lead the Longhorns into the first round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tourney

UPDATE, 1:30 p.m.:  Just close enough for the Longhorns.  Texas escapes its second-round matchup with Oakland with an 85-81 win.  Reggie Hamilton led UT with 25 points; J'Covan Brown added 21.  The 'Horns now await the winner of the Arizona-Memphis match up to see who they'll play in the NCAA men's third-round Sunday in Tulsa.

UPDATE, 12:05 p.m.:  Texas shook off a slow start in the first half against the Oakland Golden Grizzlies to take a 46-38 halftime lead.

EARLIER:  Both UT basketball teams will be in action, as the NCAA men's and women's championship tournements get underway across the country.

The Texas men, seeded fourth in the West bracket, face 13th-seeded Oakland University in a second-round matchup at 11:15 a.m. today in Tulsa.  If the 'Horns win that game, they'd play either Arizona or Memphis in the next round on Sunday.

The Longhorn women, a nine-seed in the Dayton bracket of their tourney, will play eight-seed Marquette in their first-round game Saturday afternoon Knoxville, Tennessee.  A win would put Texas on a likely collision course with top-seeded Tennessee on Monday.
