Map: 3M Half Marathon Road Closures and Detours

As many as 7,000 runners will take to the streets of Austin on Sunday.

In conjunction with the event, Communities In Schools of Central Texas will receive a guaranteed $40‚000 from the 3M Foundation to help with campus-based programs and special projects.

The 3M Half Marathon starts at 6.40 a.m. at the Corner of Stonelake Boulevard. and Capital of Texas Highway. The finish line is at 18th Street and Congress Avenue. The race is expected to wrap up by noon.

The event will require several closures and traffic detours:

  • Capital Texas Highway North Bound will be closed from Mopac to US 183 Highway (from 3 a.m. until noon)
  • Braker Lane, Burnet Road and Longhorn Boulevard will be shut down from 5:45 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
  • Dean Keaton Street, Red River Street and San Jacinto Boulevard will be partially closed from 5:45 a.m. until noon. 

The City of Austin suggests some alternative routes for traffic:
North/South: IH-35, Mopac (Loop 1), Lamar Boulevard, Guadalupe Street. 

East/West: HWY 183, 15th Street, Cesar Chavez Street.
