Update (2/16/12): As of this afternoon, Austin Police have confirmed Sarate has been found and is safe, according to the Statesman.
Original Post (2/14/12): A search is on for an Austin teenager whom authorities believe may be in trouble.
Eighteen-year old Jourdan Sarate has been missing from her South Austin home since Friday according to the Austin American-Statesman. Sarate’s mother told the paper her daughter has a bi-polar disorder and schizophrenia, and may have been without medication since the time of her disappearance.
A call for help has also been posted to social sharing site Reddit, where it has since spread across the web.
The Statesman notes Sarate became disturbed Friday after reading about a fatal auto accident late last year that claimed one of her classmates.
Anyone who sees Sarate is encouraged to contact Austin Police.
