C5 Texas is a 5-year leadership program for high-potential youth from low-income families. We serve 300+ in north & central Texas, accepting 72 new youth each year. Selection is based on performance, need, & readiness.
C5 changes the odds for high-performing youth from risk-filled environments, inspiring them to pursue personal success, and preparing them for leadership roles in college, work and their communities. We encourage C5 youth to be Character-driven, Community-focused, Challenge-ready, College-bound and Committed to a better future.
Just 1 in 10 low-income youth will earn a 4-year degree. Among those who start college, half don’t return for a second year.
Too many from low income families and at-risk communities quit trying in school because college seems beyond their reach. Others drop out and fall victim to dead-end jobs, teen pregnancy, drugs, gang affiliation because they lack opportunity and support.
C5 helps youth create a vision and master the life skills needed to achieve a college education. We provide a support network and help build an impressive high school resume through a program that promotes academics, community engagement and involvement. C5 offers challenging, fun, and rewarding experiences like camps, travel, and adventure activities. We connect students with college campuses, work environments, business professionals, and local leaders. Youth perform 200 hours of service as part of C5.
