People who lost property in this year’s Texas wildfires have until Friday to apply for financial assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The deadline for phone registrations is 9 a.m. The deadline for online applications is midnight.

"This is the last call for wildfire survivors," FEMA official Kevin Hannes said in a news release. People who already registered don’t have to worry about the deadline, even if they haven’t received their check.

Friday is also the deadline to apply with the U.S. Small Business Administration for low interest loans to fund repairs to property.

FEMA says it has already provided more than $13 million in grants for things like home repairs and rental assistance. The Small Business Administration has approved almost $20 million in loans for 164 homes and businesses.
