A flash flood watch in effect for Austin and Central Texas has been extended until midnight tonight.
The National Weather Service says showers and thunderstorms are expected today through the evening as an upper level storm system enters the area.
Some severe storms are forecast in and around Austin. Rainfall totals of one to three inches are expected, with some isolated areas possibly due for as many as five inches.
