Encore presentation of “Texas Standard,” earlier broadcast for “BBC World Service” on tap for July

News fans rejoice! Starting in July we’re bringing you the programs you love at times that fit your schedule.

Starting Friday, July 1, we’re airing an encore presentation of “Texas Standard” at 8 p.m. weeknights. Now those of you who can’t tune in for the 10 a.m. broadcast have a second chance to hear what’s making news across the Lone Star State.

We’re always trying to improve our service and your enthusiastic response to “BBC World Service” in the evenings has been noted, so we’re moving it up an hour. Starting Monday, July 4, you’ll hear international news, analysis and information from “BBC World Service” at 10 p.m. weeknights.

Additionally, “The Dinner Party Download,” a fast and funny hour of culture, food and conversation designed to help you win your weekend dinner parties, is moving up an hour to 9 p.m. Fridays.

These changes are being implemented to bring you more relevant content during times when you’re listening. It also means we’re discontinuing the Canadian arts magazine “Q” and “Humankind,” – two programs that have failed to garner consistent listening.

That’s also the case with the dropping of some other evening shows, so we’re eliminating the 10 p.m. repeat broadcasts of – “On The Media,” “The Tavis Smiley Show,” “Snap Judgment” and “This American Life.” These programs will continue airing in their regular weekend timeslots.

Check out the new schedule.
