The Daily Buzz at Cannes: Episode 9, 'Coin Locker Girl'

Daily Buzz Co-Host Anderson Le chats with S. Korean director Han Jun Hee mid-festival at the Terrace du Festival/Camera D'Or inside the Palais during the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. Premiering in the Int'l Critics Week section of the festival, this directorial debut from Han, Coin Locker Girl (Korean title: Chinatown), has already opened in S. Korea to great response. He confesses to the Daily Buzz that he didn't think his film would get into the prestigious festival because he sent a rough cut of the film with no post.

His film stars veteran actress Kim Hye Soo (Tazza: The High Rollers, The Red Shoes) and rising star Kim Go Eun (Mon Seu Teo, Eungyo). Han spent 10 years doing various jobs in the cinema industry in Korea ranging from roles such as assistant film director, screenwriter, working on music videos, and even as film festival staff in publicity/marketing. We think he's got a bright future ahead of him and will win over audiences everywhere with this well-directed crime thriller.
