Daily Buzz at Cannes Episode 12

It's a beautiful sunny day in the South of France and Daily Buzz Co-Host Anderson Le speaks with director Chloe Zhao, SONGS MY BROTHER TAUGHT ME and the two leads in the film, John Reddy and Jashaun St. John at the Majestic Beach across from the Hotel Majestic during the 68th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. The film debuted at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival in January and returns to the festival circuit as it makes it's international premiere in the Quinzaine (Directors' Fortnight) section at this year's Cannes Film Festival. Set on the Great Plains and the Badlands of South Dakota's Pine Ridge Indian reservation, the film is a complex tale exploring the bond between a brother (John Reddy) and his younger sister (Jashaun St. John) who find themselves on different paths to rediscover the meaning of home. We catch up with the director, a Chinese filmmaker based in the U.S. as she shares with our audience stories of working with these talented rising stars, how she discovered one of them from a high school yearbook photo, her experience shooting on the Indian reservation and what her first experience in Cannes has been like so far.
