Beavis and Butthead first appeared on MTV in 1993. Their trademark adolescent slacker appearance, smart-aleck remarks and their laughs secured their place in '90s nostalgia.
Now, they're coming back, and this time they'll be in high definition.
Austin resident Mike Judge, the creator of Beavis and Butthead, discussed the show's return to MTV yesterday at San Diego's Comic-Con. He also showed a sneak peak of the new episodes.
Judge says Beavis and Butthead's pop culture references will be updated to trash-talking everything from "Jersey Shore" and "Teen Cribs" (both MTV shows) to UFC fights and YouTube videos.
But the series' creator says the look of the new Beavis and Butthead will not change drastically. The pair will still be wearing the AC/DC and Metallica t-shirts.
