Another Round of Wintry Weather for Central Texas; AISD, UT and Others Delay Start Times
A winter weather advisory is in effect for Central Texas, including Bastrop, Burnet, Caldwell, Hays, Travis and Williamson counties, until 6:00 p.m. Tuesday. A winter weather advisory means periods of freezing rain, sleet, or even snow could cause some travel difficulties. We have about a 40% chance of a light wintry mix of precipitation during the morning. Read more for a list of delayed start times.
Here is a list of schools and other operations that will have a delayed start on Tuesday because of the weather:
Austin Independent School District is on a two hour delay.
Dripping Springs ISD is on a two hour delay.
Eanes ISD is on a two hour delay.
IDEA Allan Academy and College Prep: Two hour delay.
Lake Travis ISD: Two hour delay.
Leander ISD: two hour delay.
Manor ISD is on a two hour delay.
Pflugerville ISD is on a two hour delay.
Round Rock ISD is on a two hour delay.
Texas School for the Deaf is on a two hour delay.
The University of Texas at Austin will open at 10 a.m. Normal operations will being at that time, including evening activities and classes. All classes are canceled until 10 a.m. Those classes that are scheduled to already be under way at 10 a.m. will be canceled, or have a delayed start time. Students should follow faculty instructions about those class start times. Shuttle service will start at 9:00 a.m.
Austin Community College campuses and centers will open at 10:00 a.m.
Concordia University Austin campuses will open at 10:00 a.m.
Huston-Tillotson University will begin classes and operations at 10:00 a.m.
Texas State University campuses in San Marcos and Round Rock will open at 10:00 a.m.
City of Austin offices and facilities will open at 10:00 a.m.
City of Pflugerville offices will open at 10:00 a.m.
City of Round Rock offices will open at 10:00 a.m.
Travis County Commissioners Court and all county offices will open at 10:00 a.m.
Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs will open at 10:00 a.m.
