From the Texas Tribune: Coming together, at least for now, is not easy.

That was on full display over the past three days here at the Texas GOP convention, where a party once solidly behind favorite son Ted Cruz in the presidential race grappled with uniting behind his fiercest rival and now the presumptive nominee, Donald Trump. There was little visible resistance to Trump, but the ambivalence loomed large over the Kay Bailey Hutchison Center less than two weeks after Cruz bowed out of the race.

From the Texas Tribune: As Americans learned about the latest terrorist attacks in Western Europe, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz called for law enforcement targeting of Muslim neighborhoods, while also taking swipes at both President Obama and his leading Republican rival, Donald Trump. 

"Our European allies are now seeing what comes of a toxic mix of migrants who have been infiltrated by terrorists and isolated, radical Muslim neighborhoods," he said in a statement. “We will do what we can to help them fight this scourge, and redouble our efforts to make sure it does not happen here."

Rick Perry's presidential campaign has stopped paying all of its staff as the Republican former Texas governor's fundraising has dried up, campaign officials and other Republicans familiar with the operation said late Monday.
