One doesn't typically put descriptions like "roots music" and "hardcore" together, in the same sentence. It almost sounds like a joke. But when I was first blasted away by the high-energy, mindblowing grooves of Whiskey Shivers, those were the very words I was left with: Hardcore roots, fast and furious, ready to shake up any preconceived notions you may have had of Americana. How else could I relate my tale of this rowdy local quintet hellbent on turning roots music on its ear, then sharing it with the world in a new (and chaotic) light? Some would call these gents hyper.
