Lady Bird Johnson has died at her home in Austin. The former first lady was 94.

She was born Claudia Alta Taylor in 1912, but was known as Lady Bird from her early childhood. She married Lyndon Baines Johnson in 1934. He became the 37th president of the United States in 1963.

It is thanks to Lady Bird that Texas highways burst into life with wildflowers each spring. She also helped found the wildflower center that bears her name and was very active in beautifying Austin’s Town Lake.

Please join us in celebrating her life with this special report.
