Jeffrey greene has written a book which tells the story of selah, a ranch and nature preserve about 50 miles west of austin. The story tells of owner j. david bamberger, door to door vacume cleaner salesman, founder and ceo of church’s fried chicken, and internationally recognized conservationist. He bought a tract of some of the most depleted land in the area and continues to transform it from a barren waste with no water to a spring fed haven for wildlife:

The book is water from stone, the story of selah by jeffery greene, published by texas a&m press.
