Singer/songwriter, drummer and bandleader Doyle Bramhall grew up listening to heavy doses of Bobby Blue Bland, Jimmy Reed and Lightnin’ Hopkins in his native Dallas. In 1970, Bramhall formed his first band, Texas Storm, in Austin with guitar great Jimmie Vaughan and younger brother Stevie on bass. Since, he’s collaborated with Marcia Ball, pop singer Jennifer Warnes and son Doyle Bramhall II on subsequent recordings before joining up with Louisiana swamp blues-rocker C.C. Adcock for this year’s Is it News? Listen to Doyle Bramhall and his band perform live on Music with Jay Trachtenberg.
