KEVIN CONNOR HOSTS KUT'S FOLKWAYS

AUSTIN, Texas – Sept. 26, 2007 – Longtime Austin music aficionado Kevin Connor will make his return to the radio airwaves hosting KUT Radio’s Folkways, one of Austin’s most popular and longest-running music programs.

Connor, who also serves as vice president of music and artist relations for ME, “Music and Entertainment” Television, will join the group of rotating Folkways hosts. Many Austinites will recognize Connor’s voice from KGSR radio where he worked for 16 years.

“I’ve been listening to Folkways for more than 20 years and I appreciate that each of the hosts exposes listeners to different genres of folk music,” said Connor. “I might lean toward the contemporary end of folk and I hope to identify some new talent out there.”

Folkways airs on KUT Radio, 90.5 FM, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays. The program covers every aspect of folk music from the Texas Hill Country, to the Blue Ridge Mountains, to the Scottish Highlands, to roots and beyond. Ed Miller and Tom Pittman rotate hosting duties alternating Saturdays.

Connor will host his first official show on Saturday, Sept. 29. For more information about Folkways, visit Folkways @ KUT.org.
