Jimmy Reed is one of the most vital and influential figures in blues history. This week, a group featuring some of the finest Austin blues musicians comes together for a new release in tribute to Reed and a set of weekend shows at Antone’s. Omar Kent Dykes, Jimmie Vaughan, James Cotton, Kim Wilson, Lou Ann Barton, Delbert McClinton and others will perform songs from the new recording On the Jimmy Reed Highway, but not before a few special guests collaborate and join Jay Trachtenberg for a live performance in Studio 1A Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. on KUT.
