With all those images available at our fingertips – and with a camera on every smartphone – how do professional photographers stay relevant (and stay employed)?

Fri, 25 Oct 2013 16:23:00 +0000 David Brown & Jenny Dubin 9001 at http://kut.org Magnum Photos: Upholding Standards, Adapting to Technology A Narrated Look at the Magnum Photos Archive http://kut.org/post/narrated-look-magnum-photos-archive
Magnum Photos was founded in 1947 as a photographer’s co-op. A native man, his face painted weirdly, holds a great scowling iguana on his head; a boy lies on palm fronds with a colony of giant silk moth caterpillars ornamenting his neck; small brown hands hold a luminous blue morpho butterfly up to the camera. Put down your Danish rolls, people! How can anyone finish breakfast under the spell of these bizarre tropical photos?
