Annual salaries will average $70,000, <a href="http://www.chron.com/business/article/Halliburton-to-hire-1-500-for-work-in-San-Antonio-2275141.php">the <em>Houston Chronicle</em> reports.</a></p><p>When Halliburton <a href="http://kutnews.org/post/halliburton-earnings-reflect-gas-drilling-boom">reported its quarterly earnings</a> last month, it announced record breaking profits at its North American operations: more than $1 billion.
