<title>austin shakespeare presents shakespeare's much ado about nothing</title>
<description>The &amp;quot;Merry War&amp;quot; of the sexes erupts in Austin Shakespeare's production of Much Ado About Nothing, with the accompaniment of music &amp;amp;#38; dance. Blending their best actors, comedy improvisers and Esther's Follies music man Steve Saugey, artistic director Ann Ciccolella brings a fresh perspective to this Shakespearean favorite, including parodies of pop songs on period instruments, composed by Saugey and sung by young jazz diva Kirsten Dorn (last seen in Words by Shakespeare, Music by Austin). we have in our studios steve saugey, kirstin dorn, ann ciccolella, and actors babs george (beatrice), gwendolyn kelso (hero), beth burns (ursula), and les mcgehee (dogberry). music and scenes.

      <title>Hitchcock's Music Now in Paperback</title>
<description>Jack Sullivan is the author of &amp;quot;Hitchcock's Music,&amp;quot; just out from Yale University Press. It is simply one of the most stimulating, informative, and insightful books I've read in a long while. Granted, I'm a big Hitchcock fan. But I'm also a fan of the music written for his films, especially that of Bernard Hermann. But I'd never realized how essential to the films the music actually is. This book covers the entire span of Hitchcock's film career. Jack Sullivan makes this highly informative and well researched subject a compelling read. A wonderful exploration of the personalities involved. You have to read this book! I spoke to the author by phone. He's a good guy and has things to say that will make you want to get the book.</description>

<title>the tibetan monks of gaden shartse in austin</title>
<description>we are visited by six monks of the gaden shartse monastery, originally in tibet, now in exile in india. these wonderful monks travel the globe spreading the seeds of tibetan buddhism and raising funds for their existence. there are many events scheduled for their austin stay. after opening statements by sally jacques, the monks gave a lengthy chant which those of you interested in a vocal meditation won't want to miss. after discussions of their life and stay in austin, one of the monks, who must remain anonymous for the safety of his family in tibet, tells the story of his torture at the hands of the communist chinese and his escape from tibet. it's a long story told in tibetan with another monk translating. i thought of editing it, but the monk was so glad to get to tell his story i had to include it all.
