With Valentine’s Day upon us there was no shortage of material for us to consider for What We’re Watching. There are great short videos everywhere you look on the web that celebrate love and romance. But the more we looked, the more we knew we had to get your eyes on this wonderful short film from the guys at Spy Films.
Nuit Blanche has been a favorite of ours since the first time we laid eyes on it and as many times as we’ve watched it, we’re still in love with this beautiful piece of art. In 1951, Jackie Brenston and his Delta Cats (featuring Ike Turner on keyboards) recorded “Rocket 88” at Sun Studio in Memphis, Tennessee. This is considered by most rock historians as the first rock and roll single and it’s led to Sun Studio being thought of as the birthplace of rock and roll. The studio that rock pioneer Sam Phillips started helped to launch the careers of Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis and many more over the years.
