The StoryCorps mobile booth was in Austin recently collecting stories from your fellow central Texans. The Airstream has now left town, but we’re still archiving many of those stories here.
While the booth was in town, Rodney Gibbs sat down with his then ten-year-old daughter Clara. Among many other things, they talked about their family's tradition of wearing themed Halloween costumes. Along with Clara's younger brother Atticus and mom Nancy Mims, the whole family picks a yearly theme (usually based on a movie or band) and dresses up as a unit.
