We think it's unfair that you should only get to listen to O'Dark 30 once a week, so we're doing what we can to change that. But since we're far too lazy to actually produce more than one of these things a week, we're using the magic of technology to allow you to listen to the same show twice. Or thrice, even. Heck, you can play this thing all day every day if you want (though we wouldn't recommend it).
Episode 179 brings you such wondrous audio tidbits as
The Symphony of Sirens, Revisited,
Decode DC,
99% Invisible,
WTF featuring Amy Poehler and, as usual, more....

Hey everybody! We've got a nice long podcast for you today; at a little over 90 minutes, this thing is like half a complete O'Dark broadcast. And you can put it right on your portable listening device, because of technology!
We'll bring you the "Benny Goodman and The Art of Intersection" episode of Views and Brews Remix. I don't know if you guys know much about Benny Goodman, but let me tell you this: that dude could intersect like a sun of a gun.
What else? Well, that Views and Brews is putting us in the mood to keep on listening to nice people talking about music, so we'll bring you a new edition of Bonjour Chanson, in which the always delightful Charles Spira will play and discuss his favorite French popular music.
And we'll have a quick little... » read more

We've had a very efficient and productive week here at O'Dark Central. It's been so efficient and productive, in fact, that we've got this week's episode (#167) completely finished and ear-ready days before it's scheduled to air. What does this mean for you? Only that you don't have to wait around...

If you're anything like us, then last night's episode of the big big show in the sort of primetime hours is nothing more than a hazy blur by now. Maybe you tuned in, maybe it even made sense at the time, but now? You just sort of vaguely remember hearing something about a storm, maybe? Was there a...

It's another giant-sized episode of the show you love to hate! This week on the old audio bonanza, we've got a lot of (some would say too much) audio for you and yours. We'll kick things off with another movie for your ears from the mad geniuses at The Truth, then we'll move on to some...

We're not gonna lie to you fine people, this podcast turned out pretty weird. We'll start things off with something from the folks at The Truth, the guys who produce what they call "short films without pictures." That's a pretty weird thing to do anyway, and this one?
Tape Delay? Super...

If you listen to the big big show on a regular regular basis, you're pretty familiar with our buddy Jake Warga by now. This guy produces great radio, and we air his stuff enough that he's become an O'Dark Hall-of-Famer. So it breaks our little hearts to think of bad things happening to the guy,...

What's all this? A complete episode of O'Dark to listen to online? Yes indeed! It's been a while since we posted complete episodes of the big big show online, but despite a complete lack of demand, we're doing it again.
This episode features 180 minutes of audio goodness, including such fan...

Hey guys, did you know that our host Hawk Mendenhall has recently returned home from Africa? Of course you did, because that's all he's talked about since returning home from Africa. The dude brags about going to Africa like he
invented Africa or something. Just be thankful that you only...

Greetings from O'Dark 30. You might know us as the three-hour show that didn't lose power halfway through this past Sunday night. Za-zing! Super Bowl burn!
And here we are again, bringing you more audio treats to stick in your ears. What's on tap today? A few things, actually, beginning...

Today's podcast is really going to run the audio gamut in a quick twenty minutes or so. In under half an hour, we'll bring you a new look at classic cartoons, an exploration of romantic music, and a meditation on the ephemeral nature of sound.
"Heard, Once" will kick off the show today, and it's...

When we moved the big big show up from midnight to the almost-primetime hour of 10:00 pm, we thought there would be no excuse for folks to miss the show. The old midnight-to-three timeslot might've been too late for some of you guys, but ten-to-one? Come on! Have some coffee and stay...

Hey, listen, we're all busy people. Let's not pretend we have all day to hang around together and read and/or write dumb and pointless things on the internet and just get right to the podcasting, shall we?
On today's big 'cast, we've got a little something from producer Will Rogers, who never...

I've just been informed that corduroy is the "cloth of kings," which is great news because I'm wearing a corduroy sport coat right now and now I feel all fancy. Plus it's a chilly day, so it's great corduroy weather. What I'm saying, basically, is that if you're not wearing corduroy right now...

We've been informed by Wikipedia that today marks the 22nd anniversary of a UFO sighting in Trans-en-Provence, France. A witness to the event said "The device had the shape of two saucers, one inverted on top of the other. It must have measured about 1.5 meters in height," except he probably said...
