Spicewood Beach Goes Dry

Austin Teacher Salaries Decline
The Austin school district’s board of trustees voted last night to end a declaration of financial emergency. The declaration was made last year and it allowed the district to eliminate about 11-hundred positions. But now the school district is in better financial shape and Superintendent Meria Carstarphen is talking about a pay raise for teachers.
