Indie folk band
The Head and the Heart began playing together in Seattle in 2009, and quickly became local favorites. Gaining momentum through plenty of well-attended performances and the release of their self-titled album, the band quickly earned the attention of record labels, and it wasn't long before Sub Pop picked them up and re-released the album. By now, the band has toured extensively and made quite a name for themselves. Built on folksy instrumentals and vocal harmonies that are a step above those of the generic indie-pop darlings, The Head and the Heart do indie folk better than the rest. Their talent comes across best on stage, when they stitch their pleasant melodies and heartfelt lyrics together with a fiery energy that's truly impressive.The Head and the Heart played in Studio 1a on before their two sold-out shows at Stubb's as well as Sunday with the Moondoggies and Husky, and a free show at Waterloo Records....

Growing up together in Ramsey, New Jersey, friends Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites began playing music together as teenagers. They moved to Denver, Colorado with a trailer full of instruments and sought out another band member to complete their sound.
