Austin locals Guns of Navarone take their "Austin locals" label very seriously. They've got a sound blend that's distinctly Austin - it's an alt-country/pop rock sound that is a fantastic blend of old and new Austin music. Easily comparable to something like classic Old 97s, they've also got a sort of punk energy that keeps their sound fresh. Having formed in the spring of 2009, the group released a three track EP and quickly became a favorite in town.
